A number of commercial software packages are supporting IFC. Most of the systems are providing IFC import and export in their standard versions. Some companies offer an online update of the IFC converters, which can be installed and removed independent from the base software (Plug-in, Add-on).

Tip: There are different versions of IFC (IFC 1.5.1, IFC 2.0, IFC 2x, IFC 2x2, IFC 2x3). In order to achieve a proper data exchange the sending and receiving system should use the same IFC version.
