A complete IFC model can be exported into Google Earth KML by using the IfcStoreyView ( or see "Free Software").

Export Workflow

After selecting the Export menu, the Global Positioning Dialog is appearing:


  • Set coordinate system to UTM


  • Enter north angle

(relative to the y direction of the model coordinate system)


  • Enter Logitude


  • Enter Latitude


  • Enter Elevation


  • confirm input by pressing ok

  • Complete Building in Google Earth
  • Colors from IFC
  • Structure from IFC
