CityGML models can be exported into IFC by using the IfcExplorer (FZK internal version).

Export Workflow


  • select "File-->Export-->IFC"
  • confirm or change the file name
  • confirm input by pressing ok

Export Results

  • Level of Detail 1
    • CityGML buildings are converted into corresponding IFC buildings with geometry
    • Attributes are not converted at the moment
  • Level of Detail 2
    • CityGML buildings are converted into corresponding IFC buildings with either geometry or walls and roofs directly link to the building
    • Attributes are not converted at the moment
    • all building elements are surface models
  • Level of Detail 3 and 4 not tested
